Experienced School Teacher Offering Structured Chemistry Support

If you're looking for a tutor who can patiently guide your child through difficult Science concepts while building lasting confidence, I'd be delighted to help. I'm Vanessa, a qualified Science teacher with seven years of teaching and tutoring experience. I currently teach Science and Chemistry at an independent school, where I work closely with students of different abilities and learning styles every day. My academic background includes a Master of Teaching and an Honours degree in Medical Science, allowing me to combine strong subject knowledge with effective classroom teaching strategies. Throughout my career, I've taught Lower Secondary Science, Chinese and Upper Secondary Chemistry, giving me a broad understanding of how students develop as they progress through school. This experience allows me to identify misconceptions early and adapt my teaching to suit each student's pace, ensuring lessons remain engaging without becoming overwhelming. My Classroom Philosophy Every student deserves to understand why something happens before being expected to memorise it. That's why my lessons focus on developing scientific reasoning through discussion, worked examples and guided questioning. Rather than simply providing answers, I encourage students to explain their thinking, identify mistakes independently and build confidence solving unfamiliar questions.
