I'm Elaine, a qualified Secondary English teacher with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Throughout my career, I've worked with students from Primary School through tertiary education, supporting learners with different strengths, learning styles and academic goals. Whether a student is struggling with grammar, finding essay writing overwhelming or looking to refine their analytical skills, I believe every learner can improve with patient guidance and the right strategies. My lessons are structured around each student's school curriculum and individual needs, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and gradually becoming more confident in their own abilities. Rather than simply teaching students what to write, I focus on helping them understand how to think, organise ideas and communicate clearly.

I have also supported students who require additional English language support, adapting lessons to suit different abilities and learning profiles. What Lessons Include Lessons are personalised to each student's goals and may include: ● Customised worksheets and reading activities ● Essay planning and structured writing techniques ● Comprehension and textual analysis ● Grammar and vocabulary development ● Literature guidance ● Examination preparation and revision strategies Students receive regular feedback on their written work, practical suggestions for improvement and targeted exercises that reinforce areas requiring additional practice.
