Programming and Engineering Maths Tutor for Polytechnic and Computing Students
Programming becomes less frightening when students learn how to debug their own thinking. I'm Arjun, a Year 4 Computer Engineering student at NTU and Polytechnic diploma graduate. I tutor Python, introductory programming, engineering mathematics and statistics for Polytechnic and lower-year university students. My lessons are built around understanding logic, tracing code and solving problems step by step instead of copying solutions from Stack Overflow. Students usually ask me for help with: • Understanding why their code runs but gives the wrong answer. • Preparing for timed practical tests without panicking. • Breaking down longer assignment questions into smaller functions. • Catching up after missing early programming fundamentals. I am based near Seletar and teach mostly online. For students in Sengkang, Punggol and Ang Mo Kio, limited in-person lessons may be arranged depending on timing.

I graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma with Merit before entering NTU Computer Engineering. I received a polytechnic director's list award and later worked on embedded systems and data analysis projects during internships. I have helped Polytechnic students with programming fundamentals, loops, functions, arrays, file handling, object-oriented concepts and basic data structures. For Engineering Mathematics, I cover calculus, linear algebra, complex numbers, probability and statistics. My lessons usually involve short explanations followed by live coding, debugging exercises and small practice tasks. I also help students prepare for practical tests by teaching them how to read error messages and plan code before typing.
